10 Days Until Wrestlemana 28 featuring Sid versus the Undertaker

As we continue our road to Wrestlemania 28, featuring the Rock taking on John Cena in a match one year in the making and of course the end of an era match with the Undertaker taking on Triple H with Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee, with Wrestlemania 28 10 days away, I continue Undertaker week. Next on tap is the Undertaker challenging Psycho Sid for the World Wrestling Federation Championship at  Wrestlemania 13.

The Undertaker vs. Sid Vicious at Wrestlemania 13.

The unluckiest Wrestlemania of them all, featured the Undertaker challenging Sid for the championship. It would not be a match that would be remembered, for many reasons. The original plan for the championship was to be Shawn Michaels versus Bret Hart, but because of a series of circumstances that ended with Shawn Michaels losing his smile, Sid regained the WWF Championship from Bret Hart and the Undertaker was set to be the number one contender, challenging Sid for the title.

The Undertaker had not held the World Wrestling Federation Championship since 1991. In fact, for this night, the Undertaker reverted to his old grey gear, the gear that he wore when he defeated Hulk Hogan for his only championship this point. This was one of the earliest times that the Undertaker's Wrestlemania Winning Streak would be brought up, although it would not be a huge point until years later.

Bret Hart, fresh off of his double turn against Stone Cold Steve Austin, hit the ring to talk some trash but Sid dispatched of him with a huge power bomb. It was Sid against the Undertaker and it was a Wrestlemania main event that seemed just a bit out of place and kind of underwhelming. Still it was an important night for the Undertaker, who with Bret Hart coming back out for the distraction, finished Sid off with a triumphant choke slam and a thunderous Tombstone Piledriver. the Undertaker was 6-0 at Wrestlemania with this win over Sid.

On April 1st 2012, the Undertaker goes for the big 20-0 when he steps inside Hell in a Cell against Triple H with Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee. It truly may be an end of an era for sure.
