WWE NXT Review 3/14/12

Welcome your WWE NXT Report for March 14^th 2012. We have rocking mixed tag team match, with Kaitlyn and Derrick Bateman squaring off against Maxine and Johnny Curtis. Time for your weekly dose of all of the highlights of WWE NXT 3/14/12.

WWE NXT Review 3/14/12

Matt Striker is in the ring to welcome us to NXT along with NXT’s official match coordinator William Regal. Tonight’s NXT will have a special theme tonight, a lost art, that being all tag team matches tonight. I have no problem with that. And starting up with the Usos against Titus O’Neil and Darren Young.

Usos defeated Titus O’Neil and Darren Young

Titus O’Neil and Darren Young mock the dance of the Uso Brothers on the top of the ramp. That leads to a tag team match, with the Usos picking up the win after some anxious moments. Samoan Drop sets up a top rope splash to get the win. The Usos prove why they are one of the top tag teams in WWE, picking up the win on NXT in a good opening match.

We see some footage of Alex Riley and Percy Watson backstage, with a basketball. Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks step in to knock the ball away and we have a scuffle. William Regal shows up, praising Reks and Hawkins on their toilet cleaning abilities. He makes a match between Alex Riley and Percy Watson against Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks. And if Reks and Hawkins lose, they’ll be cleaning Regal’s laundry. Now there’s a match stipulation.

Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks defeated Percy Watson and Alex Riley

I found this match to be a rather fun tag team match. Percy Watson was battered in the corner but hot tag to Alex Riley, who is intense, he runs wild, taking everyone out. But Riley is slammed off the top rope and Flying Elbow Drop on Riley to score the pin. So no Laundry. Hawkins and Reks taunt Regal, saying they are just getting started.

Maxine replaces a picture of Reagan with the Queen of England. Kaitlyn and Maxine get catty with each other. Derrick Bateman shows up and Johnny Curtis creeps in. Curtis suggests that they should all get into it…the match that is. Curtis sniffs Kaitlyn’s hair, causing Maxine to pull him away by the ear.

Monday, thirteen days away from WWE Wrestlemania 28, with the Undertaker, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels are in the house, and John Cena takes on Mark Henry this Monday on WWE RAW Super Show.

John Cena has more Facebook followers than the Rock. That doesn’t really mean anything.

Michael McGillicutty makes his way down to the ring here on NXT, he has had his share of problems with Tyson Kidd as of late, as we show McGillicutty beating Kidd two weeks ago on NXT. Then Kidd smacking McGillicutty around a bit. McGillicutty mocks Kidd, calling him pathetic, an average everyday loser. McGillicutty grew up with wrestlers, so he doesn’t care if Tyson Kidd is trained by Bret Hart. McGillicutty says that Kidd’s return match is not going to happen but here comes Tyson Kidd.

Kidd has been wrestling for more than half of his life, he has the passion but McGillicutty says that Kidd never was a Hart and never will be. Ouch. Kidd decides to respond with an attack. I kind of wish that he responded with, “well you’ll never be…Perfect” but I’ll take what I can get. Regal is inclined to watch this one rather than break it up. Trying for the Sharpshooter but McGillicutty escapes. McGillicutty snaps and gives Kidd his return match, with Regal officially making the return match.

Derrick Bateman and Kaitlyn defeated Johnny Curtis and Maxine

Brief fight between Maxine and Kaitlyn, until Maxine slaps Bateman on the ring apron but for the most part, it is Bateman vs. Curtis and thankfully for that. Curtis nearly gets pinned by being creepy, going after Kaitlyn, but Bateman picks up the win with a huge bulldog. Kaitlyn and Bateman are your winners on NXT.

After the match, Kaitlyn hugs Derrick Bateman’s mother in the crowd. Bateman gets on the microphone, saying that he and Maxine are officially over, because she’s crazy. It’d be fine if she goes back with Johnny Curtis or William Regal (Regal: “No it bloody isn’t”). Tag your it and Bateman and Kaitlyn kiss. So there we go, the soap opera that is NXT Season 5 continues.
