Impact Wrestling Report 6/7/12

Last week after Impact went off the air, Dixie Carter threw an utter hissy fit due to the recording that Daniels and Kazarian played of her and AJ Styles.

Dixie is out, to address the situation but Daniels and Kazarian are out, to stir the pot of infidelity. Dixie is saved by AJ Styles and here comes Serge, who is not happy and he nails AJ Styles. Oh my, things just got real right now. Yeah that segment was what it was.

Austin Aries is backstage and he goes face to face with Samoa Joe. Aries has a match with Crimson tonight on Impact Wrestling. I have a bad feeling about this one.

Crimson pinned Austin Aries.

Red Sky scores the win, You know, when I said they needed to do something to get the X-Division title to the level of Austin Aries, obviously TNA interpreted that they needed to get Aries down to the leve of the rest of the flippy jobbers. Crimson has an open challenge. It would be nice if I cared.

Hulk Hogan talks about this and that, brother.

Brooke is talking with the Knockouts. It is all about making stars and Velvet Sky gets to be one right now. Of course she does. She's going to be the new Montgomery Gentry video. Mickie James is none too pleased.

Hulk Hogan is out and he talks for a while but this brings out Bobby Roode. Roode talks some trash about Hogan, stating that he is a better wrestler than Hogan. Roode suggests Hogan stay out of the ring. Sting is out and Roode attacks him but Sting returns fire. Roode bails. I really hope TNA doesn't do the stupid thing. Then again after ten years, any emotional investment I have had in anything this company does is long dead.

Joseph Park chants about Bully Ray.

Brooke Tessmacher defeated Tara, Velvet Sky, and Mickie James to become the number one contender for the TNA Knockout's Title.

Three days before TNA Slammiversary 2012 and now it hits them that they need a number one contender. To be fair, this was a pretty solid round of female professional wrestling. Tessmacher puts down Velvet Sky with the Faceslam and scores the pin. Brooke Tessmacher versus Gail Kim for the TNA Knockout's Title at Slammiversary 2012.

Contract signing between Joseph Park and Bully Ray. After some back and forth, they sign a contract that relieves Bully Ray of liability if Joseph Park gets injured. Through the magic of television, Abyss appears on the big screen and says he warned his brother. Abyss will be alive at Slammiversary.

Garrett Bischoff will be in Devon's corner when he meets Robbie E tonight.

Devon pinned Robbie E

This match happened. Devon wins. I never want to see this match again. Garrett Bischoff helps Devon fight off Robbie E and T after the match. Joy of joys.

Hulk Hogan is out to make an announcement that he is going to make an announcement. Out comes Mr. Anderson, who wants a title shot. And Jeff Hardy does, so does RVD, and I feel like I have fell into a rabbit hole back into early 2011. These three men will meet at Slammiversary 2012, for the title shot. Wonderful.

Sting, AJ Styles, and Kurt Angle defeated Bobby Roode, Christopher Daniels, and Kazarian

AJ Styles is late to the party for this one but he comes out for the end. A good six man tag team match but then again, all six man tags are at least entertaining. Roode tries to use the belt on Sting at the end but Sting avoids it and Scorpion Deathlock. Roode taps out. Second week in a row Sting beat Bobby Roode on Impact Wrestling which only can mean that Sting's not winning the title.

I hope. And I like Sting. It's just his time has passed. Put him in the Hall of Fame, even if it is TNA's vanity Hall of Fame that it is absurd on every conceivable level.

Impact Wrestling was not the best go home show for Slammiversary 2012 but it had its moments.
