2012 has been a topsy turvey year for
WWE and many top wrestlers have found their way on the shelf for
various reasons, whether it be for injuries, wellness, or flag
stomping in Brazil. We can add another name to the list that being
one of the top superstars on Smackdown in the past year. The man who
just recently celebrated ten years on Smackdown, Randy Orton, has
been suspended for violating the WWE Wellness Policy. Which would
explain why he was not on the Smackdown tapings this week.
Officially speaking, this is Randy
Orton's second strike with the WWE Wellness Policy since 2006, where
Orton was suspended. Given the policy for WWE and their drug testing,
Randy Orton had been suspended for the next sixty days. Which shelves
both halves of the planned No Way Out match between Randy Orton and
Chris Jericho, given that Jericho has been done.
In 2012, Randy Orton has had a rather
tough year. He was shelved a couple of times with injuries. It was
long since rumored that Randy Orton was going to regain the World
Heavyweight Title at Wrestlemania 28. If that is the case, Orton fell
out of favor, in favor of WWE's new top line babyface, Sheamus. Orton
suffered both a herniated disc in the early part of the year and
later a concussion that benched him for several weeks.
Also Randy Orton was scheduled by be in
Marine 3, but his checkered past in the Military, put a stop to that.
Adding the sixty day Wellness Policy suspension and 2012 has not been
a banner year for one Randall Keith Orton.
While it is unreported at this time
what Randy Orton was suspended for, we do know that this is his
second recorded violation. As a result, Orton will be suspended for
the next sixty days based on the WWE Wellness Policy.
