Impact Wrestling
for August 23rd 2012 was the return of Open Fight Night. Also the
Bound for Glory Series continued. The Wrestling Emporium will run down the
events of this week’s IMPACT the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Impact
Wrestling 08/23/12 Recap.
As always a more detailed and
concise report for Impact Wrestling has been made available. Now let’s look at
the good and the bad on Spike TV.
The
Good.
The Aces and Eights storyline
continued to impress for right now. The end game for this storyline will be the
real indicator of what will happen in the near future. The build can be good
but if the payoff sucks, it really will leave a bad taste in your mouth.
The Triple Threat Match between
AJ Styles, Rob Van Dam, and Robbie E contained perfectly acceptable
professional wrestling action. Robbie E scored the win. Not the best match but
enough to slip into this end of the column.
The AJ Styles/Claire Lynch
storyline appeared to have concluded. Of course, appearances can be deceiving
in this company.
The
Bad.
Old man Hogan tried to be
threatening. Hulk Hogan was one of the biggest stars of all time.
Mr. Anderson against Bully Ray
was quite a bad little match to be honest with you. Anderson really has hit the
skids on Impact Wrestling.
Robbie T against Jeff Hardy was
not much better all things considered.
The
Ugly.
The fact they reminded us that
the utterly useless TNA Knockout’s Tag Team Titles still exist. Eric Young and
ODB have not defended those belts.
Gutcheck Challenge continued to
really be predictable. Gunner was the man to fight the opponent.
The actual execution of the
Claire Lynch storyline was rather hideous.
The distinct lack of Joseph Park
on this show will make Baby Jesus cry.
