WWE NXT for August 22nd 2012 took place
at the Full Sail Arena in Florida. The show was headlined by a huge
tag team match between Johnny Curtis and Michael McGillicutty against
Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel. The Wrestling Emporium will run down
the good, the bad, and the ugly for this week's episode of WWE NXT.
WWE NXT 08/22/12 Review.
As always, a full review can be found in the corresponding section of
this blog.
The Good.
The tag team main even featured some good action. Kidd and Gabriel
are an awesome babyface team. McGillicutty and Curtis are a rather
good heel tag team. Those elements equal out to be a pretty good tag
team main event match.
We were spared Jinder Mahal this week so that's a point.
Antonio Cesaro had a perfectly acceptable little squash match with
Derrick Bateman. Granted, Bateman really has gotten thrown under the
bus after being the highlight of this show in 2010 and 2011. However,
Cesaro is the WWE United States Champion so he wins on that note.
The Bad.
The divas on this show just do not seem to be working out. Tamina
against Sofia Cortez was an afterthought. Raquel Diaz and her low
rent Beautiful People act does not do it.
Kassius Ohno did not really do much this week.
The Ugly.
Nothing really stood out in the ugly category. NXT just existed at
this point. The early 2012 will be the high water mark and everything
from about May on has been a steady trickle downhill.
Next week, the NXT Championship finals will take place with Seth
Rollins against Jinder Mahal.
