WWE NXT 08/01/12 Recap

WWE NXT for August 1st 2012 began the WWE NXT Championship Tournament. Drew McIntyre takes on Seth Rollins and Richie Steamboat squares off against Leo Kruger. It is now time to watch WWE NXT and run down all of the results.

WWE NXT Results 8/1/12

Dusty Rhodes talks about the NXT Championship Tournament featuring Richie Steamboat, Bo Dallas, Leo Kruger, Seth Rollins, Michael McGillicutty, Drew McIntyre, Jinder Mahal, and Justin Gabriel. This will be the Gold Rush Tournament tonight.

Richie Steamboat versus Leo Kruger in the first round of the Gold Rush Tournament.

Bryon Saxton, Jim Ross, and William Regal call the action. We go back to two weeks ago, where Kruger cheated to score the win over Steamboat. Both men trade offense, back and forth throughout this match. Kruger works over Steamboat, attempted sleeperhold. Steamboat fights out. Kruger returns fire and a nice back and forth offense. Kruger brings down Steamboat with a spine buster, but merely gets two. Then Steamboat hits the sling blade for the win. Good match as Steamboat is in the semi-finals of the Gold Rush Tournament.

Big E. Langston versus Adam Mercer.

Langston makes his debut right here on NXT. A squash match where Langston beats down Mercer. Big Ending scores the win. This match represents a good showcase for Langston but he's not one for longer matches as we've known from Florida.

Big E. Langston destroys Seth Rollins.

Drew McIntyre takes on Seth Rollins one on one later tonight but first Audrey Marie takes on Raquel Diaz. High impact action right here on NXT coming up next.

Raquel Diaz steps into the ring to face Audrey Marie.

Raquel rather does well in playing the obnoxious heel that you would want to reach through the television and grab her. Fair back and forth Diva's Match represented here on WWE NXT. Stungun gets an early lead for Raquel. Back and forth action takes place throughout this contest. Eventually, Raquel comes back with the Gory Bomb.

Briley Pierce stands by with Paige. Paige does not seem too impressed by Raquel Diaz.

Mike Dalton and Jason Jordan team up to face Hunico and Camacho.

Hunico and Camacho beat down Jordan and Mike Dalton but they come back with a fluke win. This match did not really engage me that much.

Mike Dalton and Jason Jordan defeated Hunico and Camacho.

Drew McInyre takes on Seth Rollins.

McIntyre beat Rollins last week and Rollins is out to avenge that loss. This is a Quarterfinal Round Match in the Gold Rush Tournament, for the WWE NXT Championship. McIntyre beats on Rollins, battering him throughout the ring. Quick rapid fire action from McIntyre gets some nearfalls. Quick commercial break and we are back.

McIntyre beats on Rollins but Rollins fights back right. Sick enzuigiri just pops McIntyre right in the back of the head, but Rollins only gets a two count. McIntyre beats Rollins with a clothesline. Tilt a whirl by McIntyre gets a nearfall. Rollins is back and he avenges his loss with a vicious Curb Stomp. Good match with Seth Rollins picking up the win.

The show ends with Rollins getting the win and the pin. A good show right here on NXT as we look forward to more with this NXT Championship Tournament in the coming weeks.
