16 Days Away from WWE Wrestlemania 28: Undertaker vs. Triple H The Second

The clock for Wrestlemania 28 is winding down and counting, spinning around, only sixteen days and counting to April 1st 2012. Only sixteen days and counting until the big one on one match between John Cena and the Rock. With sixteen days and counting until Wrestlemania 28, until the End of the Era, a Hell in a Cell Match, with the Undertaker putting his streak on the line against Triple H, with Shawn Michaels as the guest referee. Sixteen days and counting, until Chris Jericho and CM Punk squaring off for the WWE Championship. Sixteen days and counting until Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan for the World Heavyweight Title.

And last year, we look to what happened, when we saw one on one, Triple H against the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 27.

16 Days Until Wrestlemania 27

It was all about a plan. It was all about a secret plan that never happened. That's how secret it was, where Triple H would be taking down the Undertaker, being the man to end the streak, but the trigger was not pulled and The Undertaker walked out of Wrestlemania 27 still undefeated. Many people celebrated the match on that night, how epic it was, and how on that night, it was a Wrestlemania moment. For most fans, being entertained on that night would be enough.

There are matches that are once in a lifetime. Where you watch it once and you get excited. The juices are flowing, you just can't wait. The moment the match is over, you are breathless, but you fear that a second viewing might really not hold up with the glory that you felt as a WWE fan. And should you feel the need to look back, you prove yourself all too right.

Sadly to me, the Undertaker vs. Triple H at Wrestlemania 27 was one of those matches that you can only win once. Of course once you know who is going to win, after seeing the match, than the match does really lose a certain amount of drama. However there are professional wrestling matches that can still bring you in for repeat viewings, to forget that this is something that you've seen.

It is not to say that the Undertaker and Triple H at Wrestlemania 27 was a bad match, but it was a match that you had to be there on the night to capture the entire drama. For captivating fan interest on that night, it succeeded. For being something that withstood the test of time, your mileage may greatly and completely vary.

The Undertaker won with the Hell's Gate and was carried out after the match. For ten months, he was not seen on WWE television. That brings us to the build this year. The class of titans from an era that has gone, making way for a brand new and bright era. An era that marked something great for many. One on one at Wrestlemania 28, Triple H vs. the Undertaker for the third time inside Hell in a Cell.
