Fans of Impact Wrestling should adjust their schedules accordingly starting on May 31st 2012. On that night, Impact Wrestling will be moved an hour earlier. 8:00 PM Eastern Time on Spike TV, you can tune in for all of your favorite Impact Wrestling Competitors for two hours each and every Thursday Night.
Impact Wrestling Time Change to One Hour Earlier Starting May 31st
Impact Wrestling, first known as TNA Impact, made its grand premier on Spike TV in October of 2005, for a one hour show on Saturday Nights. In April of 2006, TNA Impact was moved to its traditional time slot of Thursday Nights. Then in October of 2007, TNA Impact made the jump to the two hour time slot.
For a brief time in 2010, for two months, TNA Impact moved right to Monday Nights, but the ratings appeared to not hold strong against WWE's flagship show, Monday Night RAW. As a result, the show moved back to Thursday Nights. In May of 2011, TNA Impact was officially rebranded as Impact Wrestling on Spike TV with a brand new set as the company continued to grow.
According to Spike TV, Impact Wrestling is one of their highest rating properties between views in the 18-34 demographic, an important one for Spike TV. Earlier this year, the contract for Impact Wrestling was renewed, giving us many more years of professional wrestling action on Thursday Nights to come.
The time slot change was cited as a primary move to put Impact Wrestling into a better position to compete. To hopefully improve the ratings, to exhibit signs of growth that Spike TV would want with their professional properties.
As TNA heads towards its ten year anniversary, the company intends for further growth and success into the year 2012 and beyond.
Just as a reminder, the time slot is one hour earlier than normal. Impact Wrestling will start at 8:00 PM Eastern time, on Spike TV, starting on May 31st 2012.
