Impact Wrestling 7/5/12 Review

Bully Ray is out for some chit chat to kick things off. Apparently he has a restraining order against Abyss. So if Abyss saves Joseph Park again, he'll be arrested. Then Bully Ray gleefully commits some good old fashioned assault and battery by beating the snot out of Park.

Austin Aries and Hulk Hogan meet. Aries will give up the belt tonight.

AJ Styles will address the Christopher Daniels situation and the accusations that he is the baby of the drug addict known as Claire Lynch. Dixie Carter declines comment.

Television Champion Devon defeated Crimson

Devon makes his weekly title defense after taking a couple of weeks off. Glacier 2012 loses to Devon with the spinebuster. Meanwhile Madison Rayne comes out and kisses Earl Hebner, so that's her secret crush. And that's the end of that chapter.

Chris Sabin is out, to talk about his injuries, when Bobby Roode interrupts. Roode talks about the injuries, and all of the pain that the X-Division has gone through, promising the same for Austin Aries. Roode then prepares to kick Sabin's leg out from underneath his leg and starts to injure it but Austin Aries runs out to make the save. Aries against Roode at Destination X.

Flip Cassanova defeated Dakota Darsow

X-Division tournament qualifying match, with some flippy goodness. Cassonova scores the pin with a flipping leg drop of flipping to advance forward into the tournament.

Taeler Hendrix got the job last week in the Gutcheck Challenge.

Miss Tessmacher and Tara defeated Madison Rayne and Gail Kim

Decent match all things considered. Tessmacher scores the pin in this one over Rayne.. Not too bad but obviously just a set up for Gail Kim against Tessmacher next week for the Knockout's Title.

AJ Styles is out, disputing the accusations of one Christopher Daniels. Daniels and Kazarian come out to call Daniels out on that. Daniels and Styles again at Destination X, Last Man Standing. Remember when they had the supposed blowoff to this feud nine months ago? I'm sure it will be a good match, but good night.

Hulk Hogan is confronted by a man and it appears that they have a grim message, that they will see him next week. This has to do with the mysterious masked men that attacked Sting last week. Hogan was handed aces and eights, the dead man's hand, so there is some sort of symbolism.

Kenny King defeated Lars Only

Heh, one half of the Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions is in the house. Obviously designed for King in this match. King scores the pin with a modified Uranage to advance forward in the tournament to crown a new X-Division Champion. Kenny King cuts a promo, saying we haven't seen anything yet. Apparently King is working without a ROH Contract, but there was an agreement that he would not wrestle with over promotions. Therefore the ROH Tag Team Titles are in limbo. The rats are fleeing a sinking ship if half of the recent rumors about ROH are true.

Austin Aries vows to relinquish the TNA X-Division Championship.

Jeff Hardy defeated James Storm in the Bound for Glory Series

Prior to this match, Storm is leading at number one and Jeff Hardy is tied at number six. However, Jeff Hardy manages to get up in the rankings of the series in a pretty good match. Last Call is avoided and Twist of Fate connects for the pin.

Bound for Glory 2012 will be in Phoenix, Arizona.

Kurt Angle against Mr. Anderson in the Bound for Glory Series next week, plus Joseph Park against Bully Ray and Miss Tessmacher defending her TNA Knockout's Title against Gail Kim.

Hulk Hogan is out but Bobby Roode is out, to talk some trash about Austin Aries. Here comes Austin Aries and Roode tries to cheap shot him but Aries avoids a belt shot and nails Roode with the X-Division Championship. Aries poses over Roode, while handing the belt.

Impact Wrestling had its moments but really not the best effort this week.
