Ring
of Honor Wrestling 08/18/12 Recap and Results.
Jim Cornette announced that due
to a contract dispute with Kenny King (as in he went over to TNA), the Ring of
Honor Tag Team Championship are now vacated. Next week, there will be a
tournament to crown new ROH Tag Team Champions.
Tonight, Kevin Steen will defend
the ROH Championship against Homicide.
Sara
Del Rey pinned Mia Yim. This match was taped before Del Rey’s departure in
Ring of Honor. Yim put up a bit of a fight but she is outmatched and outclassed
by Del Rey. The Queen of Wrestling shined in this match as per usual. KFTO
connected on Yim and picked up the victory.
Mike Bennett and Maria showed up
and Maria jumped Del Rey.
Truth Martini is out with Rhino.
Then Eddie Edwards was out. Back and forth and we have a number one contenders
match between Eddie Edwards and Rhino for right now.
Rhino
became the number one contender for the ROH Championship over Eddie Edwards. Yeah for Rhino,
he might be a retrend but he was something fresh in the title scene. Steen against
Rhino will be an intriguing match to say the least. This bout had both
wrestlers batter each other. Rhino brought it old school with a savage beating.
Gore right through the table and Rhino got the win over Edwards.
Rhett Titus talked about his
partner leaving. Charlie Haas will have to pick a new partner because Shelton Benjamin
left. Six man match next week where the winner will face Adam Cole and Mike
Bennett vowed victory. All on Inside Ring of Honor this week, these events are
showcased.
Kevin Steen brought up Homicide’s
past hatred of Jim Cornette. Homicide said that he isn’t doing a thing for
Cornette. He wants that Ring of Honor Championship.
Kevin
Steen defeated Homicide to retain the Ring of Honor Championship. The usual brawl
from Steen was showcased in the main event. Homicide brought the goods, but he’s
a step or two from his physical prime. Jimmy Jacobs got involved and this
allowed Steen to hit his move for the pin.
Ring of Honor Wrestling was solid
but not anything you need to break your neck to see.
